Network Security Analyst

As a Network Security Analyst, you will maintain and troubleshoot existing networks (LAN, WAN, VPN, Remote Access, etc.) as well as plan for and perform network additions and changes. You will also assist in managing vendor relations, developing contingency and security plans, and creating capacity plans.

Skills Needed:

  • Working experience of SUN Solaris, Windows NT/2000, and Microsoft IIS
  • Effective understanding of switches, routers, firewalls and network security
  • Effective team leadership skills
  • Knowledge of mass storage technologies such as SAN and NAS
  • Knowledge of VB Scripts, tape backup, and clustering servers
  • Understanding of scripting languages such as Shell or PERL
  • Web site monitoring
  • VPN

Technical Skills Required: Experience with an existing environment of TCP/IP, Frame Relay, T-1, Cisco switches, routers and firewall, and dial-in facilities. Familiarity with NIS, DNS, PPP, 10/100 Ethernet, DHCP and routing. Experience in a multi-platform UNIX/Windows NT environment. Requires a proven ability to generate realistic plans and execute against those plans.

Additional Skills Required: Excellent communication, organizational, record keeping, and problem solving skills. A post-secondary degree or equivalent is preferred and related work experience of at least three years is necessary.
